Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund - Guidelines for Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife sponsorship of grant proposals for the March 2009 round.

The deadline to submit proposals for the Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund (MOHF) thru MDIFW for the March 2009 round of funding is February 1, 2009. The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW) needs time to review all proposals before submitting them to MOHF, the one-page Summary Information Form and a copy of the draft proposal must be submitted by February 1, 2009 to:

Sponsored projects must meet the funding guidelines for MDIFW as well as the Guiding Principles for the Outdoor Heritage Fund. Applicants should be discussing proposed projects with appropriate MDIFW agency staff as they are drafted. All applicants must have ten copies of their proposal submitted in their entirety to the above address by February 16, 2009. Proposals will be forwarded to the MOHF Secretariat by March 1, 2009.

Schedule for March 2009 round:

February 1 , 2009 - Summary Information Form due and one copy of draft proposal due

February 16, 2009 - Ten copies of complete proposal due

March 1, 2009 - Proposals submitted to MOHF

It is highly recommended that you review the scoring criteria for MOHF proposals and work with appropriate MDIFW agency staff prior to submitting your Summary Information Form and the attached draft copy of your proposal. The MOHF board members rely heavily on the proposal's score when voting on which projects to support, thus, obtaining a high score by addressing the areas where points may be awarded, by presenting a clear and persuasive argument for each scoring category, is essential to being competitive to receive funding.
